Learning Experiences

As you study digital media production, you will gain a deeper understanding of the power and influence of media and the social, legal and ethical responsibilities that come with it. You’ll learn a variety of digital videography, production and editing skills to engage with audiences. Outside the classroom, you will hone your skills in unique laboratory settings such as our:

  • High definition video and television production facility.
  • Campus multimedia laboratory.
  • State-of-the-art podcasting studio.
  • 88.9 FM WRDL – Ashland, AU’s award-winning, student-run radio station.
  • AUTV 20 - Ashland’s only television station.

Also available to students are publication and production opportunities at The Collegian, Ashland University’s student-run print and digital newspaper.

Sample Curriculum

Dean's Scholarship

The Dean's Scholarship was created to enhance the undergraduate academic experience for new first-time and transfer students enrolled in a major within the College of Arts & Sciences. It is a merit-based, renewable scholarship of $1,500 that can be "stacked" on top of other awarded AU academic scholarships. In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in unique academic communities with a focus on career coaching and preparation.

Every year we select one student to receive a special internship with NewsChannel 5 in Cleveland. This intern receives a stipend and is able to work behind the scenes at a major-market news station and sports operation.
