Ashland University participates in NCAA Division II Athletics and is a member of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
ASHLAND UNIVERSITY ATHLETICS, 2014–15 TO 2023–24
- Learfield Directors' Cup (NCAA Division II All-Sports award) finishes of second in 2014-15 and ninth in 2018-19.
- Five team D-II national championships, three in men's track and field and two in women's basketball.
- 26 individual/relay D-II national championships in track and field/wrestling
- 45 CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-America awards
- Added the following sports:
- Men's soccer (program reinstated in 2016)
- Men's tennis (program reinstated in 2018)

- New indoor Fauber Golf Facility (2015)

- New interactive touch-screen Hall of Fame and history display in the Kates Gymnasium lobby (2020)

- Renovated Tomassi Stadium and Donges Field at the Archer Ballpark Complex (2022)
- New on-campus softball field – Deb Miller Field at the Archer Ballpark Complex (2023)

Ashland University also offers a variety of organized recreational sports and activities in a safe environment so participants have the opportunity to enhance their physical fitness, build social networks, practice good sportsmanship and enjoy their time outside the classroom. We have a variety of intramural sports and sports clubs to choose from.
