TubaChristmas returning to Ashland on Dec. 4
ASHLAND, Ohio – TubaChristmas, a concert of holiday favorites, will be making its return to Ashland University this Saturday, Dec. 4. The performance, free and open to the public, is scheduled to begin at noon at Hugo Young Theatre.
Hundreds of TubaChristmas’s take place around the world, giving the oft-neglected tubists, baritones and euphoniums a chance to perform melodies instead of simple basslines and harmonies as they do in most of their ensembles, according to Scott Garlock, professor of music at Ashland and conductor of the event. This will mark the 17th TubaChristmas held at Ashland.
