Online MBA students can get replacement hotspot from Verizon
ASHLAND, Ohio -- Students in Ashland University’s online MBA program should contact Verizon about the replacement of a mobile hotspot, a model of which is being recalled.
The hotspot, which the university provides, is the Ellipsis Jetpack model imported by Franklin Wireless Corp. The recalled Jetpacks are dark navy plastic oval devices that are about 3.5 inches wide and 2.25 inches tall. “Verizon” is printed below the digital display window on the front of the device. The charger provided with the recalled Jetpacks has a sticker on the wire that states: Compatible: FWC MHS900L, Model: FWCR900TVL, DC151030.
They have been found to have lithium batteries that can overheat, creating a possible fire and burning hazard.
Students and any faculty or staff members using the hotspots should contact Verizon directly at 855-205-2627 between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. to arrange for an Orbic Speed mobile hotspot, which Verizon will provide free of charge.
