AU’s nurse practitioner program earns pair of top-10 rankings

ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University has been named one of today’s best for online learning in healthcare, ranking among the top 10 in two distinct categories by EduMed.org. After running data on key affordability and quality metrics, Ashland came in at Number 3 among the most affordable online Doctor of Nursing Practice programs and Number 9 in most affordable online nurse practitioner programs.

“We are excited to be recognized in this way. Ashland University's DNP program prides itself in providing a high-quality education at affordable prices to nurses looking to advance their career,” said Jill Matthes, the interim DNP program director and an associate professor at Ashland. “These types of rankings, along with our current 100 percent Family Nurse Practitioner certification examination pass rate, provide affirmation that we are successfully preparing our students for a strong future via our FNP or Health System Leadership degrees.”

EduMed.org’s goal is to connect non-traditional students with the best and most affordable online degree programs in more than 30 medical and health fields. The organization works with hundreds of healthcare higher education experts to provide well-researched and user-friendly content, including access to trusted data and information at no cost.

To come up with their rankings EduMed.org researched more than 7,700 accredited schools using data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and from the schools themselves. Schools with the “best combination of online learning opportunity, affordability and student support earned top honors,” according to EduMed.org.
