AU’s annual Day of Giving taking place March 19-20
ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University’s ninth annual Day of Giving, a 36-hour celebration of community and philanthropy, is almost here. This year’s event, with a theme of Choose Ashland, will take place from Wednesday, March 19, at 8 a.m., through Thursday, March 20, at 8 p.m.
AU’s Day of Giving, organized by the Office of Institutional Advancement, represents an opportunity for alumni, trustees, faculty, staff and other friends to come together as one community and to support the university in a number of different areas.
Donors can select a specific area for their gift to go to, such as student scholarships, faculty and student research, military and veteran support, Ashland Theological Seminary, Ashland Center for Nonviolence, a specific athletics program, etc. Or, they can make an unrestricted gift to the Ashland Fund, which allows the university to direct resources to areas of greatest need which truly supports all Ashland students and every program on campus.
Together, these gifts will provide current and future Eagles with more educational, mentorship and collaboration opportunities, while also helping to meet everyday needs.
There will be a number of events on campus March 19 to help current students celebrate Day of Giving. On the Quad, City Sips Coffee Co. food truck will be offering a selection of drinks from 8:30-10:30 a.m., while Whit’s Frozen Custard is scheduled to be on hand with some tasty treats from 1-3 p.m. There will be a t-shirt giveaway from 10:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m., lawn games throughout the afternoon and a raffle for a $100 gift card to the Campus Store.
Since its launch in 2016, there have been 1,926 total donors on AU Day of Giving. Momentum for the day has steadily grown, and more than $350,000 was raised each of the last two years.
