Ashland University adopts test-optional policy

10/27/2020 ASHLAND, Ohio -- Due to the continuing challenges presented by COVID-19, Ashland University is now offering on-campus undergraduate applicants the opportunity to be considered for admission without ACT, CLT, or SAT or scores. This change in policy applies to the 2021-22 academic year only and is intended for students coming directly from high school or who have been out of high school fewer than three years.

“The global pandemic has created significant obstacles for students considering college,” said Keith Ramsdell, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing. “This temporary change in policy, supported by our faculty, will improve access and simplify the admission process for students while testing procedures remain a challenge.”

According to Ramsdell, in the absence of a test score, applicants with a minimum 2.70 high school GPA are eligible for unconditional admission. Applicants choosing to submit a test score, as well as nursing applicants, will continue to follow the standard admission policy found on the university’s website.
