2020 Graduates to be honored at Spring 2021 Commencement

07/20/2020 ASHLAND, Ohio -- After careful consideration of logistics, health and safety, Ashland University’s Spring and Winter Classes of 2020 will join with the Spring Class of 2021 for joint commencement exercises the weekend of May 8, 2021.

The decision to combine the commencement for all three classes came as a result of the ongoing threat posed by the COVID-19 virus. University leadership initially postponed the Spring 2020 commencement ceremony, with a tentative plan to hold the event this fall.

Because COVID-19 remains a serious issue, it will prevent not only that initial rescheduling, but also the postponement of the Winter 2020 commencement scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 19, at Kates Gymnasium.

Details regarding the May 2021 commencement will provided to graduates from all three classes over the coming months. In the meantime, plans are being made to also recognize the Winter 2020 graduates in a virtual format.
