• Health Insurance: Medical Mutual of Ohio is Ashland University’s health insurance provider. They cover an extensive network of healthcare facilities and physicians. Employees enrolled in either of the university's healthcare plans (PPO and HDHP) have access to the SuperMed PPO network. Employees outside of Ohio have access to the Cigna PPO network.
  No Surprises Act Legislation

• Prescription Program: US-Rx provides the university’s prescription program. Employees enrolled in the PPO healthcare plan have a copay for prescriptions. Employees enrolled in the HDHP pay the US-Rx negotiated price for prescriptions until meeting their deductible.

• Dental Insurance: Delta Dental is the university’s dental insurance provider.

• Vision Insurance: Ashland University's vision insurance is offered through Ameritas. The vision plan provides choice, flexibility and savings through a VSP or EyeMed doctor. Employees who elect the plan will have access to the VSP Choice or EyeMed Insight network.

• Workers’ Compensation: All employees are covered under workers’ compensation insurance, which provides for benefits in case of certain on-the-job injuries.

• Flexible Spending Accounts: Ashland University's Flex Spending Account administrator is Health Equity/Wage Works. The maximum contribution to a Healthcare FSA is $3,200 and $5,000 for a Dependent Care FSA. AU’s Healthcare FSA includes the carryover of $640 from one plan year to the next.

• Health Savings Accounts: All employees enrolled in the HDHP are eligible to receive a HSA contribution from AU. The HSA is with TIAA and administrated by HealthEquity

• Life Insurance: Voya is Ashland University's life insurance provider. The university offers Group Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D), Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability and Voluntary Life and AD&D.

• Vacation: Ashland University allows you to start earning vacation the day you are hired. The amount of vacation you accrue is determined based on years of service.

• Sick Time: Twelve weeks (60 days) of sick time per fiscal year is allotted to all salaried employees. Hourly employees earn 8 hours of paid sick time for every 160 hours worked, which accumulates indefinitely.

• Holidays: Each year there are 20 paid holidays. Salaried staff are eligible immediately. Hourly staff are eligible after 90 days of employment.

• Maternity/Paternity Leave: Female employees will typically be eligible for six to eight weeks of paid sick time that will be deducted from available sick time. Male employees may receive up to 10 days of paid sick time per fiscal year for the birth of a child. Employees who adopt a child may be granted up to 10 days of paid sick time per fiscal year.

• Volunteer Service Time: Full-time and part-time staff can volunteer up to 8 hours per fiscal year with a pre-approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

After one year of full-time service, regular, full-time employees, their spouses and dependents may take undergraduate courses tuition-free. Employees receive an 80% discount and spouses/dependent children receive a 25% discount on master’s-level courses. Employees, spouses and dependent children receive a 25% discount on doctoral-level courses.

To help you meet your retirement goals, AU offers a 403(b) retirement savings plan that is administered by TIAA. The mandatory employee contribution is 4%. The university’s contribution increases with years of service.
