Biography
- Amiel Jarstfer came to Ashland University in 2019 from Lincoln Memorial University, where he served as vice president for Academic Affairs.
- Jarstfer was named assistant vice president for Student Success and dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at Lincoln Memorial in 2010. In 2012, he was appointed dean of the School of Mathematics and Sciences then in July, 2017 he began serving as vice president for Academic Affairs.
- Jarstfer previously worked as a staff research scientist for seven years at the University of Florida. He also is an inventor with several patents to his credit.
- After completing his Ph.D. at the University of Florida, Jarstfer was a faculty member for 15 years at LeTourneau University, then served as dean of Arts and Sciences for 10 years. From his beginning as an assistant professor of Biology, Jarstfer has been involved with improving student advising and success.
